Bored of the Rings is a series that built walls for me every step of the way. I gathered together a great cast that worked hard and I really enjoyed producing every episode.
But not one episode went by that didn’t have problems beyond belief. For example, the last episode (That never finished production) was to be a 45 minute epic (In radio play terms) that would have finished off ‘The Fellowship of the Ring’.
However, after more than 10 major recasts (And people just plain letting me down) I couldn’t carry on without me doing even more of the voice work.
This first episode is a joy to listen to, as I had people rerecord many of their lines and wrote some additional material. So instead of this seeming like a first nervous adventure into the medium of radio, it seems like a fully established series.
